case completely dropped

I want to thank Dan Koukol for the amazing work he did on my behalf when I was in trouble and being accused of some serious crimes. Because I have had two prior felony offenses in the past, I was facing the possibility of prison time. I was so scared and didn’t know what to do. 

I was arrested because of a situation that happened with my boyfriend. We were having a big argument and things got out of control.  In my past, I had been a victim of domestic violence and have been in therapy for that for many years.  With that in my background, I became freaked out during this fight and over-reacted to what was happening. I thought he was trying to hurt me and I was defending myself. Then he accused me of being violent with him and he called the police. The charges against me were felony domestic violence and terrorist threat because I was threatening to kill him. I didn’t mean what I was saying; I was just scared of him. 

When I hired Mr. Koukol, he immediately started working on my case. He took the time to get to know me and wanted to learn about what had happened in my past that caused me to act the way I did that day.  Because of the nature of the abuse in my past, he wanted to be sure I was comfortable with talking about it, so he had a women investigator interview me to get the details. Although I don’t really like to talk about that stuff, it was needed in order to help him defend my case.  

Mr. Koukol met with the District Attorney twice to discuss my case. After the second meeting, Mr. Koukol was able to convince him to drop the case completely.  I consider it to be a miracle what he accomplished for me. 

I am very grateful because what happened could have ruined my entire life but because I hired Placer County Criminal Defense Attorney, Dan Koukol, I have hope for my future.
