three strike case avoided

I hired Dan Koukol to represent me when I was charged with a felony strike offense.  Before I hired Mr. Koukol, I spent hours searching the Internet for the best criminal defense attorney. 

Well, Mr. Koukol really had his work cut out for him with my case. I don’t want to tell you exactly what I did but it was really stupid. When the police arrested me things looked pretty bad.

When Mr. Koukol first went to court with me the prosecutor was offering me a plea to a strike and a four year prison term. He told the judge and the prosecutor that he was going to have his investigator interview all the witnesses and that he was optimistic about being able to present evidence that I had just made an innocent (intoxicated) mistake and that I was really not committing the crime I was accused of.

Over the course of several weeks, Mr. Koukol’s investigator interviewed every potential witnesses you could imagine. Mr. Koukol printed out maps and diagrams which combined with the witness interviews (and police logs) made it fairly clear that I had just made a mistake.

It worked. The prosecutor agreed that things looked worse than they really were. The prosecutor not only dismissed the strike offense, he dismissed the felony as well. I was able to plea to a trespass with no jail time!

From a felony strike and four years in prison to a misdemeanor trespass with no jail time, I can’t imagine a better outcome than that. When I read Mr. Koukol’s client’s stories on the Internet I remember hoping that I would be able to tell my own success story. 

Like everyone else is saying.  if you need an attorney that will really fight for you, and an investigator that will go the extra mile for you, you should hire Dan Koukol.
